Zane Saunders will present an interactive showing of the creative development for the new work, “Spirit”, as part of CIAF 2017. In collaboration with media artist and creative producer Nicholas Mills, “Spirit” will engage audiences through object, environment and performance.

Zane & Nicholas have collaborated on a range of projects over 15 years, and Spirit continues this unique collaborative dialogue.

‘Core’

Core’ is one of many ideas, works that I hope will evolve and inform as to what I hope to achieve by the project of ‘Spirit’.

Spirit is about a movement, encouraging the individual, and family. To continue to move, even though brokenness, hopelessness, darkness may suppress our worth. Never to give in, and conform to something that does not accept who we are.

True to our own purpose and sense of existence. The heaters in core relates to the artwork creating a connection to artist and audience, creating a physical presence within the room, not only visual. The meaning behind the heater also relates to fire.

Fire can create opportunities for cleansing, refining, renewal for new growth, re-growth, re-direction and being connected to Earth Mother.
